Advisory Council Self-Nominations

The Pueblo of Jemez Housing Authority (POJHA) has partnered with Sweet Grass Consulting, LLC, to conduct a Community Housing Needs Assessment (CHNA) for the Pueblo of Jemez.
In general, a needs assessment is a process that is driven by questions such as, “What are our community needs? How can those needs be met?” A “need” is defined as a gap between “what currently is” and “what should be”, therefore, a needs assessment is a process of gathering information that identifies what people need where they live, work or play, and using that information to assist in developing plans to meet those needs.
To provide the best output of information, the POJHA will be establishing an Advisory Council which will consist of one (1) POJHA Board member, three (3) POJHA employees, and two (2) Pueblo of Jemez community members*.
The advisory council will help develop community engagement and research strategies to get the best results for the assessment. The advisory council will meet once a month beginning August 2021 through February 2022. In addition to the meetings, there will be email correspondences throughout the duration of the assessment project, therefore, it is anticipated that the participants will need to commit to approximately 18 hours of involvement between August 2021 and February 2022.
The first meeting will be two-hours in length and will focus on providing information to understand what the project is about and what desired outcomes are being sought. One of the main roles of this council is to solicit feedback and ideas from the group for the development of the community survey that will be dispersed in the next couple of months. As an additional role, the participants will be asked to be influential in dispersing the survey to our community members. This includes speaking positively about the survey so community members can gain a sense of comfort and understanding of the survey and that its intentions are to provide positive actions in addressing the needs of our community.

DEADLINE: Please submit your Self-Nomination form to the Pueblo of Jemez Housing Authority no later than 5:00 pm, August 12, 2021. Any forms received after the deadline will not be considered.
